Founded in 1818 as a co-educational school, it occupies a beautiful and extensive campus at the foot of the Ochil Hills in central Scotland, within easy reach of both Edinburgh and Glasgow. The school is non-denominational. It prides itself on its outstanding achievements in many areas: academic, sporting and cultural.
