Oxford University fee rise likely
July 2009
Academics at Oxford University have warned that tuition fees at Oxford University are likely to more than treble, reports the Guardian. Lecturers at the university have said that they expect students to be charged £10,000 a year as soon as the government allows it, which some believe will be after the general election next year. They warn that they will struggle to compete with US Ivy League institutions unless government funds increase or Oxford raises its fees. They admit that chances in a growth in public subsidies are remote.
