New IB middle years programme
June 2009
Wellington College is working together with Dartford Grammar School (a selective state grammar school) to pioneer a new IB middle years programme for 13-16 year-olds. Dr Anthony Seldon, Master of Wellington, is said by the Independent to be proposing that all schools should be able to ditch GCSEs and adopt the new MYP.He expects that most of his pupils will opt for it rather than a full range of GCSEs from this September. Under the Wellington programme pupils engage in eight areas of study, including languages, humanities, science and technology, and also take GCSE iin English and maths.
