Kilgraston bucks Scottish trend
January 2012
Kilgraston School in Perthshire is bucking the Scottish trend of girls going to boarding schools in England rather than Scotland. Boarding is booming, says Headmaster Mike Farmer, and the school is thriving with record numbers, confirming a revival of boarding in Scotland. Scottish boarding schools are every bit as good as their English counterparts, he says, and parents no longer see the need to pack their children off down south. A Catholic school welcoming girls of all faiths, Kilgraston was recently named UK Independent School of the Year.
