The number of 16-!8- year olds in England who were not in education, employment or training - NEETS - fell in 2009 reports the Guardian. Quarterly statistics for October-December 2009 show the lowest figure in eight years - just over 9% of the age group. This compares with nearly 15% for the age group 16-24.
